Springmill Ponds Welcome's You!!
On behalf of our community's 229 households, the Board of Directors of the Springmill Ponds Homeowners Association welcomes you!
Springmill Ponds has a lot to offer your family. There are social events throughout the year, recreational facilities to enjoy, and beautiful common areas to share. You will learn about community activities and meetings through our website, www.springmillponds.com. The website provides regularly updated articles about life in Springmill Ponds and other helpful information, such as, answers to common questions, rules regarding the pool and ponds, and information about the committees serving our community. We would like to thank the neighborhood volunteers who work hard at maintaining the neighborhood's reputation as an excellent place to live and raise a family. Of course, we recognize that there is always room for improvement, so give us a call regarding your ideas, or - better yet - join a committee and make those ideas happen! Thank you for choosing Springmill Ponds. We look forward to serving you. Your Board of Directors,
Jeff Weller, President

Springmill Ponds Homeowners Association and Board of Directors
Each homeowner is a member of the Springmill Ponds Homeowners Association (SPHA) by virtue of home ownership. While there may be two members in a household, each household is allowed one vote per lot. These members elect the SPHA Board of Directors at the Annual Meeting. The Board members, who serve one-year terms, do not receive any remuneration for serving on the Board.
The purpose of the Association is to provide for the administration and operation of the property. This includes, but is not limited to, the management, maintenance, repair, upkeep and replacement of the Common Areas, and the collection and disbursement of the Common Expenses. Currently, the Board employs Kirkpatrick Management Company to assist in these duties.
As is true in any developed community, success depends on homeowner involvement, cooperation, and consideration among owners and residents. The monthly newsletters will give the dates and times for the board meetings and neighborhood events.
Fishing Rules
Fishing is permitted subject to compliance with all applicable fishing and game laws, ordinances, rules, and regulations. The Springmill Ponds are considered private ponds and thus do not require a license for residents. There are SPHA rules, however, that residents must follow when fishing.
The SPHA allows residents only, their families, and invited guests to fish, with certain restrictions, the ponds in our neighborhood. Fishing may be from (1) a "public area" or (2) when permission is given, a "private area."
A "public area" is any area near the pool and deck, or shores near the streets. Please note that there are no "public areas" for the south pond that is located in the middle of Springmill Ponds Circle.
A "private area" is any area directly behind any particular home. If you wish to fish behind any particular home bordering any pond, you must receive permission from that homeowner.
Fishing line and other debris left behind can kill the waterfowl and destroy a lawnmower. Please be considerate and clean up your area after fishing!
There have been incidents where nonresident, uninvited persons fished our ponds, and took large amounts of fish. Thus, the SPHA notified the Sheriff's department and they continue to assist us in enforcing our "residents only" fishing policy, as is consistent with state law regarding private ponds. Therefore, please be cooperative if a Sheriff asks you to show a picture ID as proof of residence. In addition, if you suspect a person is not a resident or a resident's guest, contact the Sheriff's department for assistance. |
