Committee Information

Pool - Monica Reece, Chair
This committee oversees the maintenance of and rules regarding the pool, tennis courts, deck, playground and the Pool Management Company.  This committee maintains a schedule of events at the pool.  Fishing rules and pool regulations follow.  Requests for use of pool and/or deck for private functions should be submitted to the committee chair for approval.

Pool Regulations

1.         Pool hours are 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. daily, with the exception of Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.  (Subject to change.)

2.         All residents of Springmill Ponds Homeowners Association, Inc., except those who are delinquent in their dues are eligible to use the facility.  Ineligible are those persons deemed by the lifeguards to have violated pool rules.

3.         No one is allowed in the pool area unless a lifeguard is on duty.

4.         All persons using the pool & pool area do so at their own risk and sole responsibility.

5.         Lifeguard responsibilities are (a) life guarding, (b) pool area and gate control, (c) maintenance and enforcement of all pool rules.  Under no circumstances is their function baby-sitting or childcare. 

6.         The lifeguards may remove any person for good reason.  Procedure:  (1) warning, (2) sit out 10 minutes, (3) removal for 1 day or more, (4) removal for third time results in eviction from pool for summer.

7.         Children ages 8-12 years old may swim unaccompanied by an adult if they pass a swim test administered by the lifeguards.  A list of all persons passing the swim test will be posted at the pool.

8.         An adult or a responsible baby sitter must accompany children under the age of 8 years old.  The sitter must also present written approval of his/her responsibility for the child to the check-in lifeguard.

9.         The lifeguard or other authorized personnel may close the pool because of weather conditions and safety or health reasons.

10.      Members are limited to 2 guests if under 18 years of age.

11.      The pool will be cleared for 15 minutes before every hour for lifeguard rest, pool maintenance, and adult swim (persons 18 years of age or older).  Only children (six and under) in the arms of a parent are permitted in the water; all other children are prohibited from using the pool during this time.

12.      Members are expected to keep the restrooms, pool, and picnic area clean at all times.

13.      No glass, drinks or food is allowed on the pool deck.  Picnic tables are available outside the pool area for eating.  Please keep this area clean.

14.      Showers are to be taken before swimming (Indiana State Law).

15.      Play equipment in the pool during heavy usage is at the discretion of the lifeguard.

16.      The Baby Pool is for supervised children under the age of six only.  Babies must be in rubber pants or a swimming diaper to enter the pool.  No disposable diapers.

17.      Proper swim attire is required for all bathers.  Street clothes are not acceptable for swimming.  (Plain white T-shirts may be worn.)

18.      No diving.

19.      No running.

20.      Persons having infectious diseases, open sores, recent vaccinations, or ear infections must not enter the pool.

21.      No pets.
